Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EI) is a growing area in behavioral research, drawing attention from both the public and academic circles. This study aims to develop an enhanced model of emotional intelligence and investigate its impact on transformational leadership and organizational performance. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed in this research, which involved the development of a hypothetical model to explore the influence of emotional intelligence on transformational leadership and organizational effectiveness. A survey was conducted within three public sector industries, with questionnaires completed by leaders at three managerial levels. The structural equation model was used to analyze 760 responses using SEM path analysis. The results revealed that emotional intelligence significantly impacted transformational leadership and organizational effectiveness at junior and middle managerial levels, but only influenced transformational leadership at the senior managerial level.
