Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey using focused convenience sampling, collecting data from 100 customer-facing banking employees across major cities in Pakistan in the last quarter of 2020. Results: The analysis revealed that COVID-19-related stress was significantly and positively associated with both job performance and organizational commitment. These findings suggest that, in this context, stress may have served as a motivating factor, enhancing both performance and commitment. Implications: The study highlights the importance of supporting employee well-being during crises and offers practical recommendations for bank management and policymakers to foster resilience and productivity in frontline staff
