Abstract

This correlational study explored the relationship between procrastination and self-esteem among university students. It also investigated gender and birth order differences in procrastination and self-esteem. The study found a significant negative correlation between procrastination and self-esteem (r = -0.35, p < .01). The hypothesis that first-year students exhibit higher procrastination and lower self-esteem compared to final-year students was supported. Gender and birth order differences were also explored but found to be non-significant in terms of procrastination and self-esteem levels. The study emphasizes the need for psychological interventions to enhance self-esteem and reduce procrastination.
